A black Chinese girl, Lou Jing, who was born and grew up in Shanghai suffered a racist backlash on a TV talent show. Gets referred to as "Chocolate girl and Black Pearl".

although there are some ignorant racists that have railed against her, you fail to mention that much of the viewers of that show seem to support her. Also, she never really experienced racism growing up, all of the people who know her in her community and school have all defended her and she said she never considered herself any different from any of her other friends. She even managed to go pretty far in that "talent" show (sorry, her singing was awful).

i really don't see how this is any different from other random youtube rants of a black, gay, or whatever american idol contestant.

There was enough discrimination in the media, online, and wherever else that it did upset her and her family enough where she even made a departing statement about it.
