He definitely needs some more muscle; 224 is not going to cut in the NBA.

To be fair, there is no way that weight is accurate. Those draft sites usually list weights for European draft prospects from when they were like 15-16 years old.

Am I the only one who thinks he looks like a young Russell Crowe in that picture?

In other news, the kid has "DARKO" written over him like he fell asleep at a college party.

Please note he is not even in the Euroleague level yet.

Why do NBA fans always do this every year? Every year they pick out some European player that they know nothing about and go crazy over him and make up lies that he dominated in Europe or whatever. Last year it was Rubio and apparently this year it is Motiejunas.

Look, Motiejunas is a very talented player and he's already a pretty solid player now and he certainly can play in the NBA. However, there is nothing special about him at all and I doubt he would even become one of the best players in Europe.

He's extremely overrated by the NBA scouts just like Rubio. Valanciunas is probably better than him and that's just from his own Lithuanian youth team.
    European Roundup: Dominant Donatas?

Not every day do you find an 18-year-old kid leading a first-division European league in scoring. Well, Donatas Motiejunas just happens to be doing that in Lithuania this season. His 21.2 points per game are good for that top position, while an average of 7.4 boards leaves him second in the rebounding ranking. Of course Motiejunas is a super-talented player oozing with potential, perhaps the most promising big man in Europe in the last few years, but nobody should be misled by those whopping numbers.

Well you are wrong. Because the numbers I posted are correct.
It's always better to look for actual facts.

Those are his stats in the "European league". Currently, 7 points and 3 assists per game. And please keep in mind that is the SECOND TIER LEVEL "European league", not the first tier level one. And there is quite a big difference in the quality between the Eurocup (where he plays) and the top level Euroleague.

At just 18, Motiejunas lead the Lithuanian league in which he was playing with 21.2 PPG and was second in rebounding at 7.4 RPG. Though his numbers are nowhere near that in the Euroleague right now, that glimpse into what Motiejunas can provide make him an exciting prospect for an NBA team ready to wait a few years for his skills to be honed.

Presently leading the Lithuanian League in scoring (21.2ppg) and second in rebounding (7.4).
He is currently projected as pick #8 in round #1 of the 2010 NBA Draft, and supposed to be a legitimate NBA player in the nearest future.
We will be lucky to have him.

Just what the league needs. One of their perpetually under-performing teams, drafting a guy that has no work ethic.

Once again, his actual stats are 7 points and 3 assists per game in the SECOND level league of Europe.

As anyone can see that looks at that, Yung D-Will is full of it.
