Jewelry? Not at all associated with formal/business wear.

Belts? People have been wearing belts with everything since forever. And yeah, rocking a belt that you'd wear with your suit with a pair of jeans would be incredibly douchey.

Ties are not casual wear. End of discussion.
Skinny ties are definately more casual then a standard suit tie.

I realize that many ties are made for casual use. However I am yet to see a tie in a "casual" situation that looks classy, which has pretty much been the purpose of a tie since forever. There's no rule (other than good sense) that binds the tie to one element of fashion, but personally I a) wince at and b) make a point of belittling anyone I see wearing them a la Timberlake.

how do you define casual situation? I class casual sitaution as going to a bar or club. If I was merely just getting dressed to go out to the shops I would not be wearing a tie and shirt.

By 'casual' I basically mean without being in a formal and/or business situation.

Still seems strange that you would get worked up about people wearing a tie. I personally don't give a shit what people wear anymore, no such thing as originality.

If by 'worked up' you mean 'Making a couple posts about it on a messageboard after the topic was brought up and making snide remarks to/about people who wear hipster ties in casual situations,' then yes, I am extremely worked up.
