Hakeem was better than Shaq at everything except scoring from under the basket Offense wise they are close (I would still take Dream because of better versatility, range and clutchness), defense and leadership wise they arent even close.

Funny how they're only now thinking of taking away the defensive 3 second rule in the NBA that Shaq is nearly done. Shaq may just in fact be one of the biggest defensive presences ever to play the game.

Versatility? At what? Shaq doesn't need versatility, he couldn't be stopped, and no one ever did. Range? You like your centers shooting further out? Good on you. I'll take the easy 5 footers and dunks which resulted in Shaq being a shitload more efficient. Clutchness? Oh please. Shaq putting up 40/20 in the finals isn't clutch. He's clutcher than Hakeem.

Shaq's a better rebounder, scorer, passer, more dominant, harder to stop.

You really can't have an opinion on this. It's not like comparing two players that are close in style and numbers. Shaq blows Hakeem out of the water and is clearly better. If you think Hakeem is better, you're just wrong.

Kobe is 9 now, behind the big six, Shaq and Duncan, ahead of Hakeem, Jerry West and Oscar (in no order).

He can now be argued ahead of Shaq due to Shaq's last few seasons (a chip will tilt the scale in KB's favor) and if he wins this year you can argue him over Duncan (though I think TD still has the edge).

Hakeem had tougher competition than Shaq. The only reason why O'Neal is so "dominant" is because the talent pool for Centers is very weak. Olajuwon had tougher competition and was still victorious. Besides, Hakeem was a much better defender.
