Ray Allen can't be in foul trouble if the Celtics want any shot at winning the Championship. This is it Boston, you aren't in the 1st, 2nd or 3rd round anymore, this is the last step to get the championship again.

Ray Allen, perform the way you performed in 2008 vs the Lakers. You'll have to.....

This is not the same Lakers team. BOS will have it utterly harder this time if they want to claim those rings.

I kept hearing from the so called experts that the Lakers where in for a rude awaking when they play a very physical Celtics team but it was the other way around. I was impressed how the Lakers got to the basket this game. Kobe, Fish, Farmer, and Brown all attacking at will...loved it! The Lakers made the Celtics look slow and old they are defiantly the quicker and more importantly healthier team at this moment.
Pretty much. The Lakers played great defensive. This game was the best they played all season long. Very shocking. I wonder if they can keep playing like this or will the celtics slow the game down and play more half court.

Celtics did play half-court basketball for most of the first half. Late 2nd and all of the 3rd, the Lakers sped it up a bit and that was ballgame.

Boston's interior defense was terrible. More than half of LA's points came inside the paint (48) if not including FT. Out-rebounded by a dozen or so.

As badly outplayed as Boston was this was the type of game they wanted to play, offensively speaking. They went to the line many times. Fouls were being called like crazy.

Two things failed for them. One was Ray's fouls and the other was their interior defense. The Lakers took, like what, ten or eleven 3-pointers? They need to make LA jack up 3's and shoot from long-range...

I thought the Celtics were going too fast. They were not the same team that beat the Cavs and the Magic. They didn't take their time. Part of the reason was because of the Lakers D though.

Didn't catch the second half, but I see Ron Artest was +26 in plus/minus and Gasol played 46 minutes. In the first half, I thought the Celtics should have kept the Rasheed/Garnett line in more. Wallace needs more minutes.

    Big win for L.A.

Gasol had a big night and Garnett needs to improve on Game 1 if there any chance of making a come back.

Rondo needs to start dominating like the Cavs series IMO. He needs to be putting 25/12. Pierce will shoot his 25, we know that. Ray Ray has to come up bigger. Big Baby and Rasheed played well for Celts.

Offensively, the Celtics didn't do too badly though. They scored 89 points, which isn't too far off from their normal output. They just need to keep Ray on the floor next game. The C's gave up over 100 points mostly because of the Laker bigs getting tons of put-backs/tip-ins. It's like even when the Lakers execute poorly on offense, it doesn't matter, because their bigs will just clean it up and they'll get the points anyway.

I remember Magic Johnson saying something of that sort, and he even added a "its not even close" at the end. People were drinking that juice, but games like this, can quickly change perceptions, as we've seen before.

Anyway, LA did exactly what they were supposed to do. They ATTACKED the damn basket. You didnt see them launching up threes (as they have a tendency to do) And Kobe took it into the post on most possessions. He also didnt force much, found the open man, and everyone did pretty well. This game was a combined effort, and it was fun to watch.

Boston looked a bit rusty out there, and I suspect they will have a lot more vigor in their step during game 2....I expect far more from them. We cannot expect Ray Ray to be in foul trouble multiple games....Them not having him out there showed.

Bynum, and Artest made a huge, huge difference imo.

Seems that the Celtics will need about 6-7 games to win the title instead of 4-5...

LOL @ those bullshit fouls on Ray Allen. This series is rigged from the get go. Celtics have no chance against Stern and his minions.

On espn Stuart Scott asks how does Kobe score a floater over Kendick Perkins. Magic replied that Kobe is the only one on the planet that can do it. WTF ?

Yeah Kobe is so good he is the only one that can make a floater over Kendrick Perkins.
