I have a photographic memory, and yes Jordan was regarded by many as the greatest ever. Probably more so than today. I hated him as a Bull, but I pretty much agreed with it.

Don't think so....

You're severely underestimating the power of media persuasion.

To me there is a point where you just know how good a player is, and I think by 93, Jordan was pretty solidified in the GOAT position. As of now, I know Kobe is around tenth best ever, and can't really go any higher or lower unless he has some sort of Kareem or Malone type longevity.

As it is, I can't decide between Jordan and Kareem as far as greatest ever, but if you ask me now whose would rank higher, Kareem based on his career or Jordan based on his career up to age 31, I'd say Kareem without hesitation.

Other than Kareem, IMO, only Bird had a legit case against Jordan through 1993. He had just come off 3 legendary finals performances. I mean 31/7/11 with 3 stls per game and 1.4 bpg on 56% shooting while playing great defense on Magic, of course he torched Drexler the following year and then 41/9/6 on 51% shooting vs Phoenix.

Of course I was just a young kid then and I was in awe of Jordan, it's funny I remembered him killing the Knicks that year(probably because of that 54 point game), but when I looked back on the series years later, I found out he did have a few horrific shooting performances that series.
at the age of 31, KAJ > Jordan without any doubt! (even if the media consider Jordan as the GOAT)

i was in high school when Jordan won his tittles and considered as the GOAT and "God of NBA", i was one of those Jordan whorshippers then, i'd automatically hate anyone has any doubt to Jordan as the GOAT by then, but as time past and the more i know about the game and some other great players like Russell and Wilt, etc., the less whorship i had to Jordan, with more history of NBA i know, the idea of Jordan's GOAT could never stand, and then i went to business school, after that i believe the so called Jordan's the only GOAT is just another joke. Kobe's the GOAT now, and LBJ will be the next, it's all about business..

Jordan never lost in the finals. Multiple finals and season mvps. End of discussion.

I could be wrong, at the age of 31, isn't Jordan's 94'-95' season?

and how many rings could Jordan get if he battled with 86 BOS, 87 LA, or 83 PHI in the finals? my guess is ZERO!!

And how many rings would he get if he was on one of four teams that was miles and miles more talented then every other? This sort of arguments are just stupid. The second three peat team could've beaten all of those teams anyway.

You play who you play. No time travelling here partner. 6 trips to the finals, 6 rings.....exclusive company. Kinda like Bill Russell and Duncan....every trip to the finals=rings.

Well I suppose 11 out of 12 rings isn't too shabby.
