Do Hollywood Actors take steroids to bulk up for certain roles?

Steroids plain and simple. Many actors take them to bulk up for roles: Ed Norton
(American History X), Brad Pitt (Troy), Charlie Sheen (Hot Shots), etc.

Do you think there is any truth to hollywood actors using steroids? I'm thinking Christian Bale probably
took them and that's why he flipped out on the set of Terminator Salvation.

I have no proof, but I wouldn't doubt it at all. Some of these guys put on weight that is almost impossible to do naturally in a certain time frame. Putting on 5-10 pounds of muscle in 1 year is very hard, but very good. Putting on 20+ pounds in 3 months is not possible without roids.

It's a world of make believe and a culture of priveledge. Nothing about it is real.

When your life is based on your ability to pretend for 20 second intervals, your perception of working hard to get ahead likely takes a beating.

I'm sure they do. Especially some of the older guys who don't have such an easy time gettin jacked for roles. It takes pro athletes YEARS to build up the physiques and the amount of muscle that some 40+ year old actors seem to build up in a matter of 2 months. It can't all be natural

If Bale put his health seriously at risk by loosing 60 pounds by eating nothing but apples and smoking cigs.. I doubt that he would do the same with roids.. Its the method actors mentality, go as far as you must to fit the part.

I would think so, even with the perfect diet/training it is almost impossible to put on the levels of muscle needed for specific roles.

If cycled properly, steroids aren't that bad of a health risk, and with the money those actors make I'm sure they have the best experts they can find controlling it.

I think he flipped out b/c that light guy was moving around and distracting him during a scene where he was supposed to be emotionally worked up.

I work in TV production and used to do TV news and you aren't supposed to be walking all over the place when shooting even on stuff like Broll for reality shows or taped interviews.




As for Hollywood dudes using roids, wouldnt shock me. Several have admitted it or been caught before.
