What will be even more interesting is what Phil has to say once he stops coaching the Lakers and doesn't have to worry about Bryant's fragile ego. I take whatever he says now with a grain of salt. The real deal will be what he says when he no longer has coaching ties to the organization.

MJ stans are absolutely insane
There are VERY few MJ stans. You have to go super far off the deep end to be an MJ stan. The people youre referring to are reasonable, knowledgeable basketball fans.

[QUOTE]"He doesn't shoot the same percentage [.455] as Michael [.497]. He has the same characteristics as Michael, but he's not the same player. It takes nothing away from him

Re: Phil Jackson -- Kobe is not as good as MJ
mj is better than kobe
but did yall forget that mj got knocked out of the playoffs his first 3 years, then the next year they got pippen, and got out of the first round, then mjs bulls kept getting knocked out of the 2nd and 3rd rounds, then the pistons, celtics, and lakers all got old, then they started winning titles
after he retired the first time, the next year his team won 55 games without him

Re: Phil Jackson -- Kobe is not as good as MJ
If you watched the two play, it's no contest. Kobe has never been on Jordan's level individually. Only LeBron has really gotten there occasionally, but he's never been able to sustain it.

He was giving a concession to Kobe, in order to be diplomatic. He basically said Jordan is better, but only because of his superior talent/athleticism, rather than technical ability.
Somehow a lot of Kobe fans interpreted that as Phil saying that Kobe is better .
