the interview date was 12 mar 2011, but didn't Phil said the same thing in Kobe's peak season? he just repeat the same thing today... i guess he just want to say something to boost Kobe's ego up...

If you watched the two play, it's no contest. Kobe has never been on Jordan's level individually. Only LeBron has really gotten there occasionally, but he's never been able to sustain it.

But he also said that Kobe has more skills than Jordan. But I think everybody usually say that Jordan is better.

He was giving a concession to Kobe, in order to be diplomatic. He basically said Jordan is better, but only because of his superior talent/athleticism, rather than technical ability.

Somehow a lot of Kobe fans interpreted that as Phil saying that Kobe is better .

The guy is about to have his sixth season of 2000+ points, 500+ rebounds and 500+ assists. The only other player do that was Oscar Robertson. It took Oscar his entire career to get there. LeBron will have done that in 8 seasons.
