According to the first definition you posted deism is distinguishable from theism. That's not nitpicking, that's the way theism is mostly used.

And if it's not theism, it's atheism. That is basic linguistics. People have just started using atheism for a word that says "belief in no god", which is false.

Theism, broadly defined, is just the belief in the existence of at least one god. Contrasted with this is atheism: broadly defined, atheism is the absence of belief in the existence of any gods.

A lack of evidence isn't proof, a lack of evidence is a lack of evidence, it is evident that the state of no evidence doesn't deny existence, and thats why it cannot be disproved.

I didn't say it was bulletproof, but it beats the hell out of someone trying to push something they can't prove. A lack of evidence keeps the burden on your side. Faith is a tough one. One could say faith, another could say that isn't it convenient that faith doesn't require proof?

Side A doesn't say theres proof, Side A is presenting the possibility. Who ever said there was proof?
