jordan coming out of retirement @ 39yrs old was still beasting it up. He played vs the zone and he was playing with a bad knee and his teammates are a bunch of scrubs

That argument is pointless and illogical. We are talking about what Kobe and LeBron, MUCH better scorers and all around players compared to Mullin where you fools are saying they couldnt touch Mullin's stats back in the day
(Chuck) Person said “the only true mid-range shooters left in the gameare Kobe Bryant and Paul Pierce anyway. New York’s Carmelo Anthony jumps to mind, but he gets a lot of his work done with physicality and isn’t necessarily a pure shooter.

There you have it. Another reason perimeter players can't shoot as efficiently as the ones from the 80's/90's. No mid-range game. Chris Mullin, Ricky Pierce, Drazen Petrovich, Chuck Person, Bernard King, etc were LIGHTS OUT if you left them open. Today's players are all about the 3pt shot and layups/dunks. No mid-range game at all. That's why guys were more efficient than today's stars. SMARTER.

It's not about athleticism or skill level and it certainly isn't because the defense today is better ( @ that). Carmelo >> Ricky Pierce, but Rickey Pierce is way more efficient than Carmelo is and can fit into any team's offense better.

lol @ clowns acting like Bogues guarded Jordan for any period of time. It was an isolated possession (go watch the series if you don't believe me - Hawkins, Wingate and occasionally Larry Johnson were the primary defenders on MJ). Think that guys like Nate and Boykins have never switched onto Kobe for a possession for whatever reason? Right...
