We should do an ISH beat contest. I would be so in.

Good beat actually, not annoying synths which is rare to me, nice drums percs etc.

    8/10 better than me

    thx for listening

a beat battle sounds like a good idea, the problem is getting participants to submit their beats before deadlines, finding judges (or getting people to judge in a fair manner), organizing the setup etc.

I've tried doing these in different boards but it never really works out but it's still worth a shot if we have enough participants.

    In regards to the beat...

I have a few new synth extensions that sound like analog 80s synths. And whenever I think of 80s + synths I think about horror/sci-fi films from that era. This beat has a bunch of sounds going off in the background to give it a subtle sic-fi soundscape. I feel the main melody could be good for a horror track, which if you check my Soundcloud page is filled with horror-themed beats (Im a horror fiend).

I played with a number of drum patterns and sounds, but settled on these. I didn't want the drum pattern to take away from the 'feel' of the beat. I wanted the drums to match the atmospheric sound so I felt these would be appropriate to match the basic drum pattern. They had enough low end to give it some oomph, but still felt airy to give it that atmospheric feel.

    Thx for listening.
