As somebody said Meadow Lark Lemon (Harlem Globetrotters) was probably the first to do it multiple consecutive times. Pete Maravich probably did it but not out of necessity or part of a move. Isiah Thomas came into the league with dribbling nobody ever seen before. He could do it three times between the legs without switching the leg and still keep you off balance.
