That's what I'm afraid of too.
This will either turn out very good or very bad for us.

not really. there arent that many good centers in the east except for dwight. melo and amare will cover up his lack of scoring. he will just need to use his main strength. paint defense.

It's a nice signing, but I don't think it's coincidence that Chandler has only ever played really well when he had Chris Paul and Jason Kidd to feed him.

Atrocious deal. Chandler has quickly become the most over rated player int he league. Don't get me wrong, he is a solid center and can be a force on D. He was a major reason for the Dallas title. But for nearly 15 million a year? He has averaged 56 games a year the last 3 years. Good luck when he becomes even more injury prone.

Does he really need an elite PG to defend the paint?

Andrew Bynum is worse defensively, is even more oft injured, and will make more than that this year.

What exactly does this have to do with Andrew Bynum? So because Bynum is making more, I guess this Chandler deal is an awesome deal huh!

but bynum is far more skilled offensively and can one day make a case for 15-20 touches. he's also a better rebounder

I made the comparison because this is about the market rate for the top centers. There aren't too many in the league.
