Because the owners were bitching how LA would get a superstar, dump salary, and not lose any draft picks. IMO, LA's picks are worthless anyway.

Maybe to kill any opportunity for the Lakers to trade for Howard?

If they can get the dollar numbers more in line, I would see no reason how the NBA could block it.

Also the Hornets are going to want some real value, while reducing payroll. If they can achieve that, the Lakers could get Paul.

All Magic want is Hedo's contract gone; they do not want Artest or Walton.
LA do not want to use their trade exception for Hedo's sake.

There will be problems getting Howard, but I think LA are retarded if they don't trade Bynum & TE for Howard & Hedo.

Apparently LA are determined in picking up a PF with their TE.

They should throw in Okafor, the Lakers would need him anyway.

nah, not really. But they do need to make it more palatable for the hornets capwise. I still think Scola and Odom are a part of it, but I dont see houston having any really desirable small contracts.

Why are the Rockets, Hornets & Lakers back at it again???? It's obvious that Stern gave them the green light

The Lakers should involve any amount of draft picks the Hornets would want. Late first rounders are usually worthless, especially to teams that have already carved out their rosters. The Suns went a few years by just selling all their picks on draft day.

I doubt a new deal doesn't include Odom but that would be ideal. Gasol and Odom is a lot for the Lakers to give up because if Bynum goes down, they're out of serviceable big men.

Hornets probably want Bynum instead of Lamar.

My guess something like

Lakers: Paul
Rockets: Gasol
Hornets: Dragic, Patterson, Morris, Martin and picks.

Lakers keep Odom, and Rockets keep Scola.
If that happens...ISH might crash

Is Landry still under contract for NO? If so, I bet they just throw him in to LA to lower their salary and give LA a PF.
