I just realized Ainge did another wtf decision by trading Mashon Brooks to the Nets.

The kid is impressive and his skills set are already nba ready, I wonder how the fck did the come up with that decision?

The only good thing Ainge did this season is the Bass-Fat Davis trade or maybe the Magic FO is that stupid and we just got lucky that Dwight wanted Fatass on his side.

In his defense, the Celtics didn't have a guaranteed backup 4 after last season.

Anyways, some rookies can get hot. Brandon Jennings had a stretch where he went ape shit.

    Let these guys go:

Kevin Garnett - Let him retire with dignity
    Jermaine O'Neal - Retire
    Chris Wilcox
    Mickael Pietrus
    Marquis Daniels
    Sasha Pavlovic

With 36M Cap Space + MLE, Sign these guys:
    Resign Allen for 2 Years / $10M
    Resign Dooling 2 Years / $3.4M
    Sign J.Green for 2 Years / $18M
    Sign Kaman 2 Years / $20M
    Sign Sessions for 2 Years / $12M
    Sign Pryzbilla for 2 Years / $10M
    Sign Delfino for 2 Years / $12M

    Line up:
    Rondo / Dooling / Bradley
    Allen / Sessions
    Pierce / Delfino
    Green / Bass
    Kaman / Pryzbilla /Steimsma

Celtics will rebuild once Pierce's contract ends along with everyone else.

I like Rudy Gay on the C's. Not sure if Memphis will move him... But maybe KG + Clippers pick for Gay + Sam Young?

they are kinda stuck where they are.

they're only real trade asset is rondo. he makes sense on the lakers, but i dont see bynum being available for him.

pierce, garnett, and allen are tradable to contending teams, but i cant think of any who can offer something worth making that trade for.

Why do people keep harping on this? The C's were never interested in Brooks, they drafted him for the Nets. About 20 other teams passed on him too, but only the C's are called out on it.

I'm hoping Orlando doesn't deal you-know-who and the Rondo pulls off an amazing recruitment. Yes, I know this is a longshot.

I don't see them contending for a championship in the next couple of years. But to stay competitive i would try to sign Jeff Green in the offseason & try to get a big man who can be a low post option because seeing Jermaine O'neal corpse out there it's kinda sad.

Keep Pietrus, Allen & Jeff Green

Get rid of KG & JO

I seriously doubt its possible, but if I was the Celtics management, I would do nearly anything to get 2 top 15 picks in this years draft and ideally one in the top 6/7. Some serious talent available this year.

Problem is (as others have said), the only quality trade piece they have is Rondo and I would be looking to keep him tbh.

Realistically the Celtic fans are staring down at least a 3 year barren spell unless they strike gold in the 2013 or 2014 drafts if they can get a lottery pick.

The sickening thing for Celtic fans is that in the space of one week in the ridiculously shortened off season, they were looking at going into the season with David West and a healthy Jeff Green... a few days later and they had neither and were left with basically no good options. If they had the two players mentioned above, Pierce and Garnetts minutes could have been seriously reduced and they could have one more big run (I still doubt they would have been good enough though).

Out of the scenarios listed above, I would personally look to keep Rondo, Bass, Green and look to bring in OJ Mayo. I would then resign Ray Allen cheap and Garnett on the vet min if he wants to stick around for another season or two. That would be a good base to build upon. Everyone else I didnt list should not be resigned, traded or released (amnesty pierce if a few quality free agents want to sign).
