Spartacus: God of the Arena
Did anybody watch this fantastic 6 episode prequel to Spartacus: Blood and Sand? Since Andy Whitfield, the actor who plays Spartacus, got cancer...season 2 of Blood and Sand was put on hold. So they decided to do Gods of the Arena. It concluded this past weekend and all I can say is that it was total BADA$$NESS! The final episode was sheer epicness. Now all we have to do is wait for season 2 of Blood and Sand. Sadly, Andy hasn't conquered his cancer and his part has been recast with his blessing.

Most Epic Part:
Dude with the net/trident lights it on fire and watches the dude burn.

I liked it a quite a bit.
Ashur needs to get crucified in the next season as punishment for what he did to his so called friend. What a POS.
I think the prequel could have been a full season with how well they pulled it off.

Yep.. series was epic . Absolutely enjoyed the prequel and wish for more of the backstory of the family after the father passed. They truly became the center of the story and it carried well. Cryxis or however the Hell you spell his name was a great integration to his becoming champion. They left it open with gannacus and the other linesta who sold his slaves and was warned never to return until selonias never drew breath.
Sucks about Andy. He was spartacus to me so well have to see how the new guy fits.

I was surprised at that.
Everything was pointing towards a harsh end for him.

yeah... even Crixus kept telling him that it was on.
He was serious too.. he wanted to prove true champion . .
I will have word with the writers . .
nah.. it was frickin' great. The writers should be proud. Loved it.
And that one dude Tulius ? got what he deserved that was awesome..
set to rest inside the foundation .. the walls of the arena.. bad ass..
and then with Solonius double crossing Battiatus in the end was cool how the whole story comes together with those two eventually having beef ala Blood And Sand..

I was just on the edge of my seat waiting for him to get pierced.
Early in the fight, I thought Ashur's treachery would play a part in Gannicus' end.
Am excited about the chance of Gannicus appearing in Blood and Sand season 2....maybe some tension between him and Doctore perhaps?
Funny....the net guy, Ashur and Crixus all had the look of wrestlers thrown out of the ring during a royal rumble.

In June 2010 he had completed treatment, but the cancer returned 3 months later.
For fans of his, here he is in a live action video for the Time Crisis videogame:
