Re: How did Smashing Pumpkins become so underrated?
I got excellent value for the Smashing Pumpkins in the Battle of the Bands Draft. Y'all can venture there late tonight or tomorrow and check out the beastly track I submitted for them in Round 1. I'm Gunn kick boy BankShot all over the cyber streets then give him an electronic curb stomp.

? You mean besides write alot of good music?
Popularity does not equate to quality, just look at whats popular now and reflect on its quality and lasting power.

Basically a nearly flawless band. Not only that but Smashing Pumpkins has tons of deep, legit songs. I have the greatest hits and I feel like it doesn't even include 10+ songs that deserve to be on there. It should be a double CD because that's how many good songs Corgan wrote.
Thoughts on Smashing Pumpkins? Why aren't they more popular even now?
Bolded is untrue. And Smashing Pumpkins is in my top 3 favorite bands of all time ever list.
Nirvana and Pumpkins are different. Also Nirvana is immortalized today because they put out like 3 perfect albums then the lead singer martyrized himself. So basically they went out at the peak of their game before they could put out a clunker album which is why they are so legendary now.
If pumpkins went out after melon collie and the infinite sadness with Billy Corgan committing Hari Kari they would be just as big today as Nirvana.
Pumpkins are great, I love Machina, Machina II, Ava Adore, even Zeitgeist, but they have alot of bad songs and I get why critics hate those albums.
Gish, Melon colie, Siamese Dream are just as good as any nirvana album, only difference is nirvana died and pumpkins petered out.
If Kurt Cobaine didnt kill himself they'd probably be seen as Pearl Jam is today, dedicated cult following, recognition from the critics but not the massive giant band they were considered in their heyday.

Rated appropriately. Couple good albums. Lucky to have the social and media attention they get. Intensely popular for a few years but all things pass.

You do know music depends on preference right? "Idiot".
If Siamese Dreams is the best album of the 90's, then I'm better then LeBron at basketball.
You named like 4 good rock songs from that list; why are you name calling when you're wrong. The band just wasn't as great as their cult tries to justify they were, sorry.
Nirvana? Forget about it, and it had NOTHING to do with the death of Cubain. They were simply a much better band, and a hell of a lot more influential.
