40 point playoff games(Active leaders
Kobe- 11 (208 playoff games)
Lebron- 9 (92 playoff games)
Dirk- 7 (124 playoff games)
Wade- 6 (87 playoff games)
Duncan- 4 (176 playoff games)
T-Mac- 4 (38 playoff games)
Amare- 4 (56 playoff games)
Durant- 3 (23 playoff games)
Melo- 3 (49 playoff games)
Pierce- 3 (110 playoff games)
Ray Allen- 3 (110 playoff games)
Dwight- 2 (57 playoff games)
VC- 2 (56 playoff games)
Tony Parker- 2 (138 playoff games)
I only included players who have had multiple 40 point games. I was surprised that Lebron already has 9, he's surprisingly close to Shaq and Kobe already.
Note: Iverson isn't active anymore, but he had 10 of them.
Edit: Updated after the 2011 playoffs. Shaq is no longer active and finished his career with 12 40+ point playoff games in 216 playoff games. Durant had 3 during last year's playoffs, Dirk had 2 and Melo, Dwight, Rose and Westbrook each had 1.

He probably won't get as much anymore since hes sharing usage with Wade.

Re: 40 point playoff games(Active leaders
I didn't know Ray Allen and TP had any.
But I'd suggest including the amount of playoff games played.

Exactly, this is the reason Kobe doesn't have more, he was sharing usage with Shaq!

Good college starter
Re: 40 point playoff games(Active leaders
LeBron already with 9. hell easily pass Shaq pretty soon.

Re: 40 point playoff games(Active leaders
Good post. Lebron will probably pass Shaq, but still, to have more than all of those guys speaks volumes about just how dominant Shaq was at his peak. BTW, how many of them came from 00-02?

Good idea, I added games played

Possible considering only 3 of his 40+ playoff games came with Shaq. Then again, it's also possible that he wouldn't have played nearly as many playoff games, so possibly less opportunities for that reason.

Re: 40 point playoff games(Active leaders
Lebron only has 3 less than Shaq and 2 less than Kobe in 100+ less games played
Lebron has so many playoff games left in his prime .. even with Wade hell easily surpass them

Re: 40 point playoff games(Active leaders
10 in a three year span in which he was arguably as great as any player who ever played. And three straight titles, including a 15-1 playoff record in '01. I have long maintained that his "Three-peat" Finals were quite possibly the greatest Finals ever played.

No doubt the greatest post-season scorer, and by a mile. Still, Shaq's Finals, from 00-02 were, IMHO, 1-3 as the greatest in NBA history.

Yes, 3 of his 4 came in that series. 1 of them came last year vs the Lakers, so all 4 have been in the WCF.

Roy had 40+ in his 2nd playoff game. Probably would have had 40 in his 1st if it wasn't a blowout. He would have had many more too if he had knees.
