Hmm, I wasn't that impressed with the schnitzel I had at a schnitzelhaus in Frankfurt. Maybe it wasn't a good place for it? I don't know. But I'd like to nominate fried potato cubes. Those were the best part of the "schnitzel meal" I had. Scratch that. The best fried potatoes are latkes! Put those bitches up there.

I'm likin the list so far.
I am sure other European posters can add even more specialties (I'm thinking Spain, Netherlands, UK, Balkans, Portugal - one of the thousands way to cook Bacalhau should definitely make the list)

Time to represent for the Jamaicans.

I really couldn't find the perfect pic, but I love Ackee and Saltfish with Breadfruit. So good.

The green stuff in the plate is Callaloo with is also great. I usually have either Callaloo or Ackee and Saltfish, not both but maybe I should try that. Saltfish, which is salted cod fish, goes well with Callaloo as well.

Also, in the place of breadfruit, you can have boiled green bananas, dumplings and various other things.

    Mediterranean Mezza

A wide array of mediterranean appetizers served before the main course. Including but not limited to hummus, mouttabel(baba ganoush), tabbouli, fattoush, stuffed grape leaves, kufte, bourek, and falafel.

    Manti

Armenian style ravioli stuffed with seasoned ground beef and topped with a garlic yogurt sauce.

    Shish Kabob

Texas Barbecue doesn't have sauce. The barbecue philosophy in Texas is that the meat should be able to stand on its own.

This is how brisket is served in Texas.

I once got to talk to this guy (Now that's what a pitmaster should look like!)

and after he got over me being from NYC (he wanted to know if the police in NY were as corrupt as movies make it seem) he said he doesn't put nothing on his meat but salt pepper and a little cayenne. People would ask to buy his special rub and he would say it ain't nothing but salt pepper and a little cayenne. Finally he started bottling it. It still ain't nothing but salt, pepper and a little cayenne.
