Re: David Stern to step down as commissioner Feb 1st, 2014
The NBA Finals use to be shown on TV late at night on tape delay.
Just look at the league now.
Say what you want about Stern from a business stand point the man has done a great job. I don't like what happen to Seattle...I don't like how he interfered with the Paul trade to the Lakers etc. Stern has done a great job growing and expanding the popularity of the NBA during his tenure. For that he has my respect.

Re: David Stern retiring in near future?
If this is real, then it's good news. But it is 30 years too late.

Great career for Stern imo. Of course he has made bad decisions, but generally every single thing he has done has improved the league. His decisions have generally been positive ones.
For those of you saying thank god he's retiring, blah, blah, blah you do realise that Adam Silver has been Stern's protege right? Do you really think that things will change very much going from Stern to his hand molded protege? I'm actually pretty interested in finding out who the new Adam Silver will be. The Deputy Commisioner is a position of great importance as well.

2015 NBA Finals championship trophy should be renamed to the David J. Stern Trophy.

GTFO and take that relic Marv Albert with you. The NBA is overdue to enter the 21st century.
