Brazilians are not naturally more violent than anyone. There's a lot of crime because of social inequality. But it's not as bad as people think.

Football is huge here. Almost everyone likes it. But jiu jitsu, not so much. Most brazilians don't know a thing about it.

I find your culture fascinating. I have a friend that lives in Palmas in Tocantins so I'm hoping to make it down there for the World Cup. Is English widely spoken? Or can I get by with knowing only a few Portuguese phrases?
There will be no World Cup Games in Palmas. Wc Games will be held in important state capitals. I'm sure you will find a lot of english speaking people to help you. Even taxi drivers can speak basic english in tourist cities.

Starting XI for Brazil by the 2014 world cup?

    Lucas or Oscar?
    Vagner Love or Fabiano?
    Ceni or Dida?
How popular is basketball in Brazil? Does the local league have a solid following?

To the person who asked about video games in Brazil, about 1/3rd of the people I come across online on FIFA 13 for XBOX360 are Brazilians.

Lucas and Oscar play different postions. Lucas is more of a right winger (or AMR). Oscar is a pure AM. They can both play together.

Vagner Love and Fabiano are both average players. But Luis Fabiano is better. Both are shite compared to past great brazilian CF like Romario and ROnaldo.

Dida was better for me. I've always found Ceni overrated. People get to high on him because of his deadly FK'S.

Basketball was very popular untill the 80's (second colective sport behind football) when it got surpassed by volleyball (much more popular than basketball now). It's still popular, but not by the average brazilian. But the Brazilian Basketball league has a lot of fans specially in the Southeast of Brazil (S

Never. But I'm afraid they might have a great chance of winning the WC here. BTW, the rivalry is only in sports. I love Argentina and have great friends there.

Me too, I have friends from both countries, my wife is from Argentina and I always kid her and her family about Brasil

Her comeback is that Argentina has knocked Mexico out of the WC twice in a row

Everytime I meet and Argie, there are football jokes and teasing around, specially about the Pele x Maradona thing. It's quite fun.

Argentina is a great country. I have always had a lot of fun there. And only nice things to say about their people.

And about prostitutes, the governement assist prostitutes by distributing contraceptives, educating the public about the disease, and suggesting voluntary testing.

Also, there are more americans (total and % wise) with HIV/AIDS than Brazilians.
