    Default George Mikan Mini Mix

Just finished uploading a Mini mix of the original big man Mr. George Mikan.

6'10 245 ...In today's league he would be listed as either 6'11 or 7...Considering they give a lot of guys 2 inches...Or kevin love, 3...PLUS sinc ehe didn't lift weights to my knowledge, he'd probably weigh anywhere from 265-280

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qx69x0B7U00

Footage of him is hard to come by but I did what I could...My internet is CRAP where I I'm ATM so if you guys know of more footage I can add it will be highly appreciated! After this I'm making a mix of the entire DECADE of the 50s...And after that I'm doing my ULTIMATE project

a Mix of the EARLIEST basketball I can find, whether it be 30's 40s...So it will cover

40s,50s,60s,70s,80s,90s and so on (I'm random as **** so I might do something else...any requests?)

IF YOU ARE A BASKETBALL FAN / BLACK HISTORY FAN...READ THIS

Mikan VS the Globetrotters (which was not like it is today...Think of it more as the best black players in America at the time)

Greatest meaning overall most respectable? Def could be argued. Plenty of rings and is a pioneer of the sport we all love today? hell yeah I respect this man

And with modern training, taught better shot selection I honestly do think he'd be one of the best centers in the league today. DAT HOOK

Nice to see Mikan getting some respect on the boards. I bought his autograph a few months ago. He's one of the true greats, an absolutely dominant force and big draw in his day.

Yeah I don't see ANYONE mention him really...it's a shame, after watching a good amount of college and pro games in the early 50s I have to admit I really like there style of ball...All that passing!! TEAM fundamental game.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did that set you back?

I'd love to start collecting stuff like that.

Mikan, Wilt, Russell(Idt he ever signed lol), Kareem, Walton, Dream, Ewing, Robertson, Shaq, Mutumbo ETC

Honestly, I was surprised at how many people shot there free throws like that...literally every single player! At that time, the way thats common today was "JEEPERS whats that classy lad doing!?"

I paid close to $200 for it.

Here's my collection (featuring Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, Pete Maravich, Oscar Robertson, etc): http://s1132.photobucket.com/albums/...982/?start=all

I got this one last week, which has become one of my instant favourites:

That Russell autograph must have been extremely difficult to come by. He stopped signing autographs as a player after 1964 (I may be a little off with the exact year.) and was heavily criticized for that. He said that autographs basically turned him into a commodity. He wanted to be respected as a man not just as some entertaining athlete. I'm certain that in his later years he softened his approach to signing autographs.
