It's not something someone should be browsing at work.
I do at least 80% of my posting at work. You can usually tell just by the thread title what a thread is going to contain. That's why Alonzo's spree yesterday was disconcerting. Thankfully I happened to be home by the time he started posting lewd pictures.
I guess it all depends what kind of job you have. I happen to have a good amount of freedom at work. I'm not even sure anyone would really care if they saw me browsing this forum and the d!ck pic popped up. I'd have to explain to coworkers why I was on a forum with such a pic, though... Which would be incredibly awkward.

I browse when I'm on break.
There's some things at work that aren't so different at times online, plus you would like to get away from all the stuff going on at the time. Browsing on ISH or any other website actually can be a joy for that brief moment.

Actually, it is the exact opposite I've found. The more professional the job is, the more likely you are to have the freedom to pretty much do what you want as long as the work gets done. Intense supervision at work usually goes hand-in-hand with lower level work environments, at least in my experience.

any place with internet that's not a government job. Basically not a place of work that specifically told you to not surf anything non-work related or you'd get fired; if your work blocked social media sites then you probably shouldn't surf. Otherwise it's usually ok if it's not NSFW.

Depends on the company I guess.
I worked as an accounting intern at an oil and gas company here in Houston over the summer, and browsing a forum like this would be frowned upon.

This. Everyone I know with office jobs spends all day posting on Facebook, shopping on Amazon, reading ESPN, posting on message boards etc.
I'm a financial consultant and I spend almost all day reading message boards/ESPN and shopping online. I don't usually post on ISH for the very reason we're talking about now, because random people like coming into threads with butthurt porn pics as a form of damage control
When I worked at Toys R Us, Kohls etc that's when the computers we had could only get on the store's website and google.

Idk why you guys are responding to Bmd about work + posting. If he hasn't figured that out on his own, maybe he should interact with people who actually have jobs outside of McDonald's.
No offense, Bmd. I'm just saying.
Anyway, I'm glad this douche with multiple accounts was banned. How much of a loser do you have to be to be upping yourself constantly online? It's especially sad because if he posted something he thought was funny, he'd go on another account and quote himself just to put smileys.

Even the employees who work at McDonald's can have access to the internet.

When you've reached double digit alt accounts online where you act out different personas you've officially lost at real life.
