Different moods call for different music. There's no need to "stay in that lane".
I'm into music for the art of it, but sometimes I like to vibe to some meaningless, empty ignant tunes. I've never understood why some people have this "you're either with us or against us" type mentality when it comes to art when art comes in multiple forms to be enjoyed.
I'm a fan of both Wu Tang and Drake, Aesop Rock and A$AP Rocky, El-P and Jay-Z, etc.

Slim shady>>> kool g rap
Kool g was one of the originators of multiple syllable rhyming, but slim mastered it.

Everyone does. But you can still display lyrical skill doing that kind of music. Some of Wu's songs are some of the most ignorant shit you'll ever come across (I'm looking at you Freeloading Rusty), doesn't mean you get a pass for mumbling and using the most basic and unimaginative rhyme schemes possible.
Perfect example- this is one of the 'hottest' 'rappers' out right now. I will paypal you $50 if you can write down his 'lyrics' without looking them up somewhere:

Classic
Haven't heard that in a while. It's amazing how much Sean Paul swagger-jacked Cat. Sounds exactly like him, it's eerie.

I didn't even mention anything about Eminem. Did you just feel like mentioning him? Also, anyone who would say Eminem >>>> Kool G Rap has suspect hip hop intelligence. Eminem himself wouldn't say that. It's one thing to say you think Eminem is better, but to say >>>>> like he just crushes him is way ignorant.

I enjoyed the song. I'm not sure how it sullies the name of The Wu-Tang Clan seeing how several members of the collective have made similar songs to Drake's song. Hell Ghostface made a career out of making mid-tempo R&Bish songs AND Method Man made a bid to join the mainstream by making a classic R&B-Hop song.
I'd also like to know what exactly The Wu stands/stood for and why this song is an affront to their legacy.

You claimed he was "the pinnacle of emceeing." Slim shady trumps him, its not close.

Wu brought a whole new slant to hip hop... You know what else they specialized in that rappers today fail to understand??
BEING ORIGINAL!!
they built a whole world of karate/urban music and fused it together.. They also had a whole crew of rappers who had their own ORIGINAL (there's that word again) styles
I dont see how anybody could even ask "what did Wu stand for"

I don't think that always has to be a requirement.
If someone wants to specialize in easily accessible chant-along anthems, I don't see a problem. It's simply a different sub-genre.

I don't think this is an "affront to their legacy", blah blah blah. Drake is just wack, and his attempt to somehow affiliate with Wu with this track that does nothing to "pay homage" to them is just another example of that, that's all. Has nothing to do with it having R&B in it.

No one with an extensive knowledge of hip hop and both of their respective careers would say that. And you can bet no legendary emcess would ever say that.. So everyone's entitled to their opinion, however given how ignorant I feel yours is, I don't really wish to continue debating with you.

Knoeitawl, drake is a good artist regardless what you think. I see why some people dont like him since he is soft as f*ck and talks about catching bodies but his music is more hit than miss and that isnt something I can say about most rappers.

This is too true. I listen to tunes when I am smoking up or getting myself hype to work out and when you smoke you feel the beat more than the words. Thats why lil wayne is too nice. He rides the beat like noone else, best smoke music hands down. Nowadays lyricism is falling off but production is becoming too nice. You find the worst rappers with the hottest beats.
