Let's take Euroleague 2012/13...starting centers of all teams. Which of them would you consider freakish athletes superior to NBA players in terms of their physical tools? Which not?

He thinks Spanoulis is quicker than Rose and Westbrook combined and LeBron is the only other basketball player in the world who as athletic as Spanoulis. He's obviously a terrible judge of athleticism.

This is more NBA myths. First of all, the NBA is loaded with stiffs and always has been. NBA is always loaded with zero athlete players. This nonsense that every NBA player is some super athlete is bullshit.

Second, in the Euroleague athletic ability is actually stressed MUCH MORE for big men than it is in the NBA.

In the NBA you don't have super super elite athletes at 6-7 to 6-9 with super long arms that can run like crazy and jump out of the building, guard on the perimeter, guard pick and roll well, etc. playing center.

Well, there was prime Ben Wallace.......the Euroleague is LOADED with such centers. Athletic ability at center position is greatly stressed in Euroleague and is seen as much more important than it is in the NBA.

You just throw out these NBA myths which are not true. A lot of Euroleague team coaches in fact will only use a super athletic guy at center.

It's very common for Euroleague teams to make it an absolute rule in their system that their center be the most freakish athlete they can find available in the world.

Athleticism is not stressed for other positions in Euroleague, but is stressed HUGE for center position.

NBA has more athletic wing players, but Euroleague has more athletic centers. Gasol brothers are borderline stiffs for most Euroleague coaches.

He just got totally shut down by Marc Gasol in Spain's 30 point beating of Serbia. And one of Euroleague favorite center Bourousis looked like he was playing in quicksand in Eurobasket. He gets dominated by NBA scrubs like Ike Diogu. There is a reason why European bigs are stereo typed as slow, soft and stiff...because most of them are.

Not only was 'baby shaq' slow, but he was also much much smaller than Greece billed him to be. They listed him like 6-10 and 300, but he looked about 6-7, he was dwarfed by the real Shaq. Very unskilled too, all he could do was attempt to camp in the paint and hope people bounced off him but Shaq just moved him around like a ragdoll which he wasn't used too so he looked visibly shook and helpless. NBA players will do that too you if you've been brought up in an inferior basketball system I guess

your comments are a bit unfair... shorts was called that way because he was fat, black and a center, not because he dominated like O'neal.
And yes, he was owned by diesel but then again same can be said for most NBA centers.

shortanidis was also never considered amongst the elite in euroleague, he was a just a good starter (on some seasons) that managed to put up big games but mostly due to the teams he played in.
