Jazz Could Revisit Interest In Marquis Teague
Oct 13, 2013 1:12 AM EDT
The Utah Jazz have shown trade interest in Marquis Teague and could revisit discussions with the Chicago Bulls depending on the timetable of Trey Burke.
Burke suffered a fracture in his right index finger on Saturday.
The Bulls currently have Derrick Rose and Kirk Hinrich at point guard, as well as training camp invite Mike James.
Teague averaged 2.1 points in 48 games last season.

Interesting. Could be an upgrade on Machado. Do the Bulls want to get rid of him with Rose and Hinrich's injury history and James age? They are always looking to cut salary so they might. Could get a good deal possibly.

[QUOTE]John Lucas III is captain of the ship.
With rookie Trey Burke sidelined for an estimated 3-6 weeks after fracturing his right index finger, Lucas is easily the most accomplished point guard left standing in the Jazz

Steve Luhm: Can't imagine Jazz adding a player who will soon require a contract extension, regardless whether Trey Burke is out 3 weeks or 3 months. Twitter @sluhm
I assume he means Teague? If they got Teague cheap they wouldn't have to pick up his option for next year. Could make sense if they like him. Step up on Machado based on where he was drafted anyway. Only 21.

The Utah Jazz announced today that the team has waived center/forward Dwayne Jones II. Following the move, the Jazz roster now stands at 19 players. Jones II (6-11, 250, Saint Joseph’s) appeared in one preseason game for Utah. NBA.com
The non-point guards in camp's chances just lessened.

[QUOTE]Jazz veterans Marvin Williams and Brandon Rush continue to recover from injuries, but neither is close to returning.
Williams underwent surgery June 4 to repair his right heel and Achilles tendon.
When he was with Golden State, Rush tore his ACL and MCL in a game on Nov. 2. He underwent surgery in January.
According to Corbin, Rush is scheduled to be re-evaluated on Oct. 26. Williams

In their press release, the Jazz did not indicate whether or not pins were inserted into his fractured finger, something that could delay his return.

The Utah Jazz are expressing a level of interest in Jamaal Tinsley.
“He’s a guy who knows our system,” Tyrone Corbin said.
Tinsley played with the Jazz last season.

Shouldn't have let him leave in the first place.

I still like him as a backup. I think with the young bigs sometimes you need a pass first guy who'll get them the ball in the right spots.

Re: 2013 Fall camp/Pre-Season!
This game may be very typical of a lot of Jazz games early in the year. Strong effort but inexperienced mistakes and an lack of experience late in the game.
Lots of things to like tonight. Gordon Hayward had the ball in his hands for lots of the playmaking without Trey Burke on the floor.
The way it should be.
[QUOTE]He did a very nice job and made some mistakes. Gordon used to get to pick his spots for shots and tonight he often has to take the shot whatever it might be and he hit just 5 of 16 but he got to the line 14 times and was able to score 20 points on 14 free throws. His points per scoring opportunity tonight was 22 scoring opportunities and 20 points. He needs to be above 1. League average is 1.05
