07 Kobe. Really? A case could be made in 2009 but LeBron was LeBroning.

Although this is obviously a blatant troll post, there's some truth. However. The opposite is also true. Malone received one of Jordan's MVPs and Jordan received one of Malones. It evens out.

I was always disappointed that Wade never got to win a MVP.

I could see an argument for giving him the 2009 MVP.

He's fine with this one probably.

Wasn't a robbery, but I wanted Kidd to win it over Duncan.

    2001 Shaq
    2005 Shaq
2006 Dirk or Kobe (rare year where I could have accepted a non-top seeded team to have an MVP)
    1999 Duncan

Malone definitely deserved it that year. He had better stats than MJ on a 64 win team. MJ was ridiculous that year though (considering his age)

2007 Lakers won 42 games. I don't think he would've won it if he averaged 40.

    '89 MJ? '98 Shaq?

Based off regular season individual performance, purely ... not team record, taking into account QUALITY of teammates next to them, which affects how a star player can win games?

    89 - MJ
    90 - MJ
    93 - MJ

97 - MJ @ 34 dropping 30 ppg on a 69 win team, following a 72 win season ... no way Karl deserved it. It took voter fatigue and the first ever player campaigning himself for him to get the award.

    2k2 - Shaq
    2k5 - Shaq
    2k6 - Kobe
    2k7 - Kobe
    2k8 - CP3
    2k9 - Wade

    If playoffs are included?

    89 - MJ
    90 - MJ
    93 - MJ
    97 - MJ
    2k2 - Shaq
    2k5 - Wade
    2k6 - Wade
    2k7 - Duncan
    2k8 - Kobe
    2k9 - LeBron
    2k10 - Kobe
    2k11 - Dirk

It all balances itself out, but I feel either of these options is more accurate. Wade deserved an MVP or two, Kobe deserved two or three MVP, Shaq deserved more ... obviously. Nash deserved none, Dirk should have like one of them (but not his atrocious 2007 playoff showing), Duncan could use one more, LeBron one or two less ... and MJ should've been pushing near 9 MVPs.

    Better representation of dominance.

CP3's regular season was more impressive than Kobe's. But Kobe took his team to another level in the playoffs. I have always felt MVPs should be awarded after the season. That way we don't have embarrassing Dirk 2007 situations.

I thought Wade should have won in 09, but they picked LeBron over him because of the team's record. Same reason why they picked Rose over LeBron and Howard in 2011.

Good post. Can't argue with much. What about '98 Shaq?
