It was written doesn't get enough love in these discussions. Arguably Nas' best album IMO

Link? I googled "kurt loder classic rap albums" and I couldn't find a list.

I'm on the fence about The Black Album and It Was Written. Great albums for sure, unsure whether they're classics

This is kind of a pointless discussion when classic albums are not even necessarily good, but just generally highly regarded by your typical middle-aged hip-hop fan.

We're posting opinions on other people's opinions really.

Of the albums listed so far, which are 'not necessarily good'?

First two albums on Kobe Finger's list are subpar to average in my opinion. Jay-Z hasn't put out a good album since Reasonable Doubt. GRODT, It's Dark and Hell is Hot, and Doggystyle are not good albums.

I can't argue that they're not classics though. They are.
