So did the Nets' plan ultimately fail?
At the end of the day you've got, yes, a very deep team, but your star power is lacking. Deron Williams, Joe Johnson, and Brook Lopez don't count as guys who can really shake things up in the playoffs or apparently not the regular season either. I never thought the Nets were going to be amazing, but I certainly thought they wouldn't start the season well below .500.
So what happens next? Do they rebound? I know its still very early in the season but still...I don't see them making any miraculous comeback.

They are going to be a worse disappointment than the Lakers.

No one predicted a finals appearance for the Nets.

It's been 9 games and no ones been healthy, so no not at all. And the lacking star power thing is complete bull shit, look at the 04 pistons.

Chauncey Billups has more star power than any of those guys. He may not be a better player stat wise but he was a game changer.

Considering they play in the East they will still get a top 5 seed.
once the playoffs start, anything can happen.
They've been playing much better as of late.

Re: So did the Nets' plan ultimately fail?
Their ultimate plan is to win a championship, and we're 73 games away from the playoffs even starting. So no, not yet.
EDIT: Used 'they're" instead of "their"

The plan was(is) to buy a Championship. As long Mr. Prokhorov has buttloads of cash, we'll always be contenders for top free agents. #KD2BK

Yey while giving your first round picks away for players that need wheelchairs. This was a horrible deal.

You'd be surprised. A lot of people thought they'd make it to the finals.

Like who?
I think I've seen 1 reporter out of 37 predict that.
And please don't say Net fans.
I call BS.

It's early in the regular season
The 2010 Celtics weren't that good in the regular season either
