Job income only. Oilfield. I don't know the first thing about investing money nor real estate.

Perhaps a little extreme, sure. Proof is in the pudding though multiple times over how you've treated people. I just thought it an observation worth bringing up in the actual thread. It's really good that you are self-aware. I didn't say you were a douchebag, just really harsh but it's all good.
A douchebag can be all kinds of things. If I were to construct a Frankenstein Monster of ultimate ISH douchebag you would only be a small part. Shit, I feel like I've been deserving of at least a finger or ear maybe at times
Again, I'm glad your hard work has paid off and I hope you manage your money well and have peace of mind and love of heart.

Re: Just broke 100k YTD.
congrats to you...
my father just recently hit big on Gulf Oil drilling investment and is now starting to cross over from being "well-off" to flat out "rich"...I'm pretty excited about it, feels like he won the lottery or something
as far as investing goes, you just can't ever go wrong with oil it seems...so many self made millionaires owe everything they have to oil

I have uncles who are millionaires because of real estate and I'll be one too in a couple of years. Here is the dumbed down version of what they do.
1) Buy land for $80k to $120k with your own personal money
2) Build a multi-family home (usually triplex with a loan from a private bank) for $300k
3) Re-finance for $500k to $600k ($100k to $200k in immediate profit)
4) Two of the tenants will pay the mortgage while the third one is going to be passive income which is usually $1,500 a month
Then once your really used to this you move on to 10 family homes.
