Wealthiest Americans Ever (inflation adjusted)

Pretty crazy to see these numbers compared to someone like Warren Buffet. Rockefeller had $192 billion.

Yeah those guys back then were beasts, especially the 4 OG's, Rockefeller, Carnegie, Vanderbilt, JP Morgan, pure capitalism!

I love this Andrew Carnegie quote:
"The most comfortable, but also the most unproductive way for a capitalist to increase his fortune, is to put all monies in sites and await that point in time when a society, hungering for land, has to pay his price"

Re: Wealthiest Americans Ever (inflation adjusted)
Actually it isn't inflation adjusted but adjusted for the % of GDP that their wealth accounted for.

Land ownership, natural resource ownership, bankster debt money privilege, intellectual property monopolies, and so on. Even the Waltons only got that rich because of all the zoning favors they got from local governments and massive taxpayer funded subsidies via land rent.
Bunch of parasites.

Well, if the American dream is to make as much money as possible with as little contribution to actual wealth creation as possible or not at all whatever. The way to get really, really rich is not wealth creation, it's rent seeking. The most popular way to go about that is by owning economic opportunities that would otherwise exist anyways and then charge others for permission to take advantage of them.
