Ultimately, LeBron being on an absurdly stacked team cheapens what he's doing with his field goal percentage in my mind. No one can be double teamed on that roster, so everyone is seeing single coverage and getting wide open shots. Wade is shooting 54 percent, and Bosh is shooting 53 percent. The big 3 are shooting lights out, while taking fewer shots per game.

Kevin Durant in a landslide.

Durant is the clear MVP at this point in the season, but he was also the early season favorite in each of the last two years. It will be interesting to see if he can keep it up this time.

The point is that there is not a single person aside from blind homers who think Durant > LeBron.
Few would argue that LeBron is the best player in the league, but Durant has amazing stats on a team with a better record in a better conference. As you alluded to, voters will be looking for any reason to give it to someone else. For LeBron to win MVP, the Heat will likely need to finish with the best record in the league or his stats will have to be so overwhelming that they have no choice but to give it to him.

We moderate this place as best as we can. The amount of threads we have to delete daily would shock you.
