A true PG gets everyone involved. You gotta have a good stat line especially when it comes to assists/turnover ratio, but it's not really just the numbers. Watch the games and see who makes a lot of passes that lead to assists, those aren't in the boxscore, and you will know who the selfish PGs are and the unselfish who promote team play.

Re: Which of these is a true point guard?
Orchestrating and controlling the flow of offense most certainly goes beyond what assist numbers, or individual attempted shots shows. Assist to TO can be a brief guage of their level of plays, but to know a true floor general you got to watch their games.

you can't judge a "true PG" from their stat lines alone. you have to look at their teammates' too.
that's how you know which are the "true PGs."

a "true" pg has no business scoring over 15 points a game.

and why not? a true PG performs whatever is needed of him to control the game. without the threat of scoring, a passing guard is nothing.
a true PG isn't about just dealing assists or even just pure scoring. a true PG is someone who masterfully controls the game.
when your team needs you to score, you score. when your team needs you to lead, you lead. whatever your team needs, you provide. and you control the flow of the game because you handle the ball. you dictate the type of offense your team plays.
that's why a good PG is so important. you can have the most dominant frontcourt player, but if you have a scrub for a PG, that frontcourt player will be useless.
