The only time divisions have any sort of impact on the NBA are freak instances like this season and the Atlantic where everyone in the division is well below .500 and one of the will get a playoff seed. Other than that they're pointless. It's not like the NFL where half the games you play in the season are against your division, in the NBA less than a quarter of the games you play in a season are against your division. It's not like in the MLB where 3 out of 5 teams in each league that make the playoffs make are division winners. In the NBA there are 5 spots in each conference that make the playoffs without even having to glance at their division record. They're pointless in the NBA. Originally Posted by Legends66NBA7
