Poll: What do you call Soda/Pop/Coke?

Growing up in Northeast, everyone said Soda. Now in the corporate world, even inter-office emails, will use "Refreshments" or "Soft Drinks"

You would just say "A regular coke"

No I'm White. The town I'm from (Big Bear Lake if anyone's interested) is heavily Caucasian. It's a ski resort town up in the San Bernadino mountains.

Very interesting. Although assuming that map is accurate I was in the middle of "soda" country calling it coke.

That also Jives with my experience of hearing pop in washington and soda in oregon.

Well most of Canada and the upper midwest of the US are neither rednecks or 90 years old so I don't know where you go that idea from lol. Maybe it's different where you are, but up here redneck is associated with some hick from Alabama or something. lol

And ya, never heard a Canadian call it anything but pop. Americans up here are mixed. When I've gone to the states it depends on the region (Penn., Miami, Wisconsin, Baltimore, etc.) and I think it's 50/50 from what I remember as well.

I've always heard soda (nj and philly) so looks right. My cousin's family visited from Florida and called it pop, and it's apparently a "soda" state, but I think their mom is from Ohio so she probably just turned them into Floridian outcasts.
