I always talk about the fact that Lebron defense is overeacted. He is a great help defender and can make a very good ball denial, but man to man he is average.

This. Lebron is no different than any other superstar with average man defense but a high enough IQ to play good team ball (IE, a Larry Bird or an Oscar Robertson). He's a great player, so he knows how to play the game on both ends. But by no means is he some sort of relentless savage and ball hawk on the defensive like a Jerry West, Bill Russell, Michael Jordan or Scottie Pippen were. Lebron is a serviceable defender under the right system. 1 on 1 he gets exposed every time by any half-way decent offensive player. His athletic looking 'chase-down blocks' from a few years back vastly overrated his stock as a defender.
