Do you guys play craps?

I only started playing last summer but was instantly hooked. Easily the most fun game and one of the most lucrative in any casino. and living in southern california, i usually go to vegas at least 3 times a year, so ive been lucky enough to be able to play a handful of times a year.

the game pretty much requires you to have a fat bank with you, but the profits can be pretty damn nice. this one girl i grew up with went to vegas one weekend last year and never played craps until that trip. at the end of the weekend, she walked away 10k richer. crazy!

I'm a huge craps fan...was just in Tahoe on a skiing trip and I played some while there.

it is absolutely 100% luck but it still gives you the most adrenaline and excitement of all the casino games...


a few years back I was in Vegas and hit my "fire" bet (which is hitting 5 different points in the same roll, hard as hell)...I was in the money that night, entire table yelling and screaming for me...it was just flat out awesome


the problem with craps though is that like you said, it isn't cheap, and it seems like the majority of the time you will roll a point, spend a shit load of money loading up the board to prepare for your 3 hours of straight rolling, and then crap out right away and watch all the money you just tossed out there vanish...

watching a fire bet happen in person has to be absolutely crazy. thats awesome. and yeah i feel your pain about setting the point, and then putting a bunch of money on the table ( i usually play at least 2 come bets, and then double or triple my bet on free odds), only to crap out on the next roll.

but when those dice roll your way..... oh is life good.


its also a great way to get comps at casinos. granted you sign up for a players card.

I always load up all the numbers...because IMO the only way to really win at craps is to go on a long roll...and if you go on a long roll without crapping out you want to get paid off for it.

it's just expensive to load the numbers up...at a min $15 table it will cost you around $50-$75 or so to load up the numbers and put odds money on your point

and all those chips can just disappear with one 7 roll



but if you go on a 30 minute long roll???...shiiiiiit, get ready to ask if you can trade in all of your $25 chips for $100s because you can't carry that many of them

randomly watching the S08E21 episode of pawn stars, and they're printing a factoid that craps is the highest customer-odds game in the biz. i had never heard that before.

so... okay, maybe on a randomising basis, but when it comes to real skill, i don't think there's any competition for poker. because you're making money off your opponents in poker, not the bank. they make money either way.

I played in Vegas this summer for the first time. And I lost all weekend. After we checked out and were waiting for the cab I threw 20 on the crab and came away with 340.

i also play mostly poker but have tried craps a few times (maybe 3 or 4?). i dont think im doing it right because i lost so quickly every time. I gotta learn more about the game before i play again. i only know the basics.

I avoid the casinos. In-house Hold 'Em with friends is the only gambling I do.
