My beard doesn't grow in as thick on my cheeks as it does in the goatee/mustache area, so I usually either go goatee or if I go for full beard, I embrace that it is thicker around the goatee area and have that intentionally longer.

Yep, there are many people in this world like the OP who don't know jack about beards. That's why he made a thread like this and confused about maintenance, judging by the pics he posted of his beard, that's why there are sites like that for him.
