Ronaldo had the best individual year of any player and that's why he won the Ballon D'or. I love the Supercopa de Espana but winning that does not get you a golden ball.

It is going to take a lot more than winning another meaningless award (Ballon D'or, Might as well call it the Messi) for Ronaldo to be better than Messi. Cristiano isn't even better than the Real Ronaldo, or the other real Ronaldo, Ronaldinho.

Football is a team sport, but the Golden Ball is an individual award. The best players make their teams better. That's why Xavi and Iniesta get so much love and why Lahm should of won the Ballon D'or.

I'll take the man who is a match winner rather than someone scores 100 meaningless goals any day. The rub about Football is that it takes both to win a match. Save the stat padding for American sports. If it wasn't for FC Barcelona and Messi Cristiano would have at least one leg to stand on for his claim of being the goat. Why didn't Jordan win the MVP every year?
