you want an interesting angle on that one? the same director went on to make a frank movie about the yakuza. so what happened next? they murdered him, of course.

[QUOTE=gigantes]it was a nice book. kind of philosophical, but in a good way.
interesting critics comments over at rotten tomatoes. they give it good reviews, especially for visuals, but keep saying that it

This. I didn't read the book so I liked the ending. Although it's worth saying the movie is more worth watching the bigger your TV is

It is Yann Martel's masterpiece, that is correct. But being a masterpiece doesn't mean something is necessarily good, just the single best work of an artist.

I thought this movie was awesome. First few minutes are kinda boring though but to me it was worth sitting through.
I haven't read the book. Didn't know there was a book. Is it better than the movie?

thx, dude... like i said, i read the book.
if i'm going to spend the time to watch a movie, i'd rather it be something i'm unfamiliar with. i'm actually way behind on my foreign films, so would probably watch slumdog millionaire or something.

Re: Life of Pi is a Masterpiece
I watched...really felt...boring. Visually it was amazing. Great Gatsby, Life of Pi, Avatar were some of the best looking movies I've seen in recent memory.
Story wise? My friend was breaking it down after he watched. I'm like wait that is how you interpreted it? Let me go watch again, just thought it was a boy and a tiger. Never got around to watch it.
