Biggest choke job: 2011 Lebron or 2014 Peyton Manning?

I was stunned by how bad was last game for Denver and this comparison came to my mind.

Before you come here and say Peyton did not choke, because he threw for 280 yards and completed 70% of his passes against a seattle defense, well, in my opinion his pick 6 was a definition of a choke job.

You are losing 15-0 in a SB, going on a good drive to try a score and make the game 15-7 or 15-3, and then throw a pick 6.

That was straight choking, the game losing play.

In my opinion the comparison is pretty close, both were considered playoff chokers, had high expectations and failed to maintain their regular season stats or even the previous playoffs round stats.

But i will give the edge to Peyton. He broke records in TD passes and yards, his offense was the best of all time, and then goes to the big game and throw 2 interceptions in the first half.

Lebron after all did not have a great regular season for his standards that year, neither his team was record breaking in anything.

Football is dependent on more factors than the NBA where one man can make a big difference.

Manning can only do so much, there's offensive calls that are made by the offensive coordinator, the defense also plays a significant role. If the defense does a better job the play calling for the Broncos is different. A more balanced attack can perhaps keep the Hawks on their toes a bit more. He's also dependent on the running backs and receivers.

So essentially there's multiple variables to consider here.

He didn't choke, he also didn't have a great nor a terrible game. Not much he could've done to be honest.

It's not like the NBA in which MJ can be all over the court defensively, then creating for his team offensively.

Manning didn't choke.. he got beat up on by a better team.

I think the people who say he choked are the ones who underestimated the Seahawks.

Just because Peyton was carving regular defenses, they assumed he would stroll into the super bowl and carve up this defense.. If you had been paying attention, you would have been able to predict that this defense would be able to get quick pressure, and the only question then was whether or not Peyton could find his receivers faster than the pressure could get to him. He can't run anywhere, so it was up to the Seattle front four to make him uncomfortable.

Seattle front four got the job done..

IMO manning would have been much smarter to just take the sack on those plays when the pressure was on him and he either was stripped or hit while throwing
