Japanese competitive-eating legend Kobayashi posted this to his Facebook.

Imagine if Michael Jackson had a photo like this taken in his lifetime. MJ once stated in an interview defending his sleeping in the bed with kids that the "most loving thing to do, is to share your bed with someone." What if he said, "the second most loving thing to do is to help someone cleanse the dirt and grime of this cruel world off of them".



I love Kobayashi, but I really need an explanation for this picture.

They might be his kids (the girl looks somewhat Eurasian), but I've never heard of him having children. And, I wouldn't post a pic of my kids like this as a father for the world to see.

If that's their mother and they're not his children, it's still kind of an odd move for a public figure to make. Maybe he helped out with the bathing process, but he looks to be just sitting back and smiling as he watches.

That album 'Kids' is full of him hanging out with all kinds of different children he helps out as a volunteer, so it could all be harmless. Looks mad suspect though.

And, I never outright accused him of being a pedophile, so there is no leap. I said I'm puzzled by the pic as are many others.

I don't deny that I'm a victim of today's oversensitive, reactive culture when it comes to the relations between adults and children. I can't help it that "creepy" was the first word that popped in my head when I saw it.

But, if these aren't his children it's not a smart move to post bathing pics of them to your Facebook. Being Japanese who speaks very little English, Kobayashi may not be aware of how people are in America so he had no idea the mistake he was making.

The kid's aren't exposed in any inappropriate way, so the pic itself is not a big deal.

The decision to take it (who is actually taking the picture btw??) and post it for the world is bizarre.
