Default Bought a phone on ebay

I bought a phone on ebay; it seems like original owner claimed that he lost it. Now the phone I have is locked. What should I do? I bought it a month ago

If it's locked I'm guessing its an iPhone. There's absolutely nothing you can do about it.

Have you tried contacting the seller on Ebay? That would be the first thing I would try. I don't know very much about iphones.

Damn Galaxy S4's are hella expensive. So unless he listed that he does not know whether or not it has a bad ESN or that it does in small fine print, it's well within your rights to contact him and get a refund + shipping to return it. I think if it's anything past 3 months, paypal will not help you but you said 1 month. Get your money back, good luck dude

It's a common scam. People sell their phone and then afterwards report it stolen and get a new phone/money from insurance. Essentially get a new phone+money.

Luckily you bought it off of Ebay and have something to fall back on unless it was listed as Bad ESN. If you bought the phone on Craigslist then you are SOL.
