Who is the best Midwest MC? Eminem, Kanye West, Common or Lupe Fiasco? Please don't say Nelly.

I shouldn't have to. Put it on wax - bottom line. Put up "Criminal" or "Just Don't Give a F**k" against "Get By", "Mathematics", "A Song for Assata", "Propaganda", "Believe", etc. It's not even close...

man, i'm bout to throw some old em in. i think stan was his most creative song ever. i remember the first time i heard it, i was like whoa. whats that joint called where he talks about looking for BIG's killers in the begining? that was hot. and the one where he jumps off with i sit back with this bag of this weed that gets me... after his second cd though, i stoped listening. btw pac is the goat. lyricaly big and em were better, but i can give you some material from pac hat showed he did have lyrical skills.

Eminem might have good lyrics, but all his songs sound the same. They always have similar sounding beats.

Biggie was a better lyricist than Eminem; I hate the son of a *****, but you gotta respect him.

It's certainly possible that Em could outrhyme anybody on any given topic if you asked him to. But who knows? Maybe MC Eiht could do the same thing. As long as you're making songs like "*** On Everybody", "My Fault", and "Superman", he's doing it simply for the money a lot of the time.

[QUOTE=The_Pope]Rappers who are better than both Eminem and Tupac [QUOTE]

(that's nonsense - let's just go with Em):

    Nas+
    KRS One+
    Talib Kweli+
    Mos Def+
    Canibus+
    Ras Kass+
    GZA+
Raekwon- too much garbage, no excuse for the Immobilarity album
    Ghostface+
Inspectah Deck- one good single (Word on the Street) and one good guest spot (Above the Clouds) does not a good MC make
MF Doom- must have at least sold 100k copies (aka "record going aluminum"), even lifetime, to qualify
    MF Grimm- see MF Doom
Big L- may have gotten a chance if he wasn't killed, but too much guns and drugs lyrics, overpowering the other stuff
    Notorious B.I.G+
    Rakim+
Prodigy- studio gangster who will put a cap in your head, if he can reach you from his mansion at the East End of Long Island
El P- so underground his mother doesn't recognize him
Killah Priest- somehow, he didn't offer a refund to people like me who bought the Heavy Mental album
