i think it's frivolous to spend several thousand dollars on a piece of jewelry for oneself. It's like wearing your money on your wrist. Maybe frivolous is the wrong word, but it just rubs me the wrong way. I'm not a jewelry type of guy.

Email and text in my field is very important... i can't review paperwork over the phone nor can I communicate when i'm somewhere where I can't talk. Only people with non smart phones in my field are old guys about to retire.

The OP is talking about having something strapped on 24/7.

We are not talking about not owning a smart phone but a smart watch. You fall in that category of not needing one either. If you need to check documents then a big screen on a phone will just do that. A watch is not going to help you read documents.

Nobody wants to buy a smart watch when their phone does the same thing. You are essentially putting two of the same devices on your body. I like to think of the smart watch like a bluetooth ear piece but at least the ear piece serves a purpose.

i just think it's a matter of time before the younger generation want it to happen, older people still realize that 15-20 years ago a cell phone was a luxury, but our kids and our kids kids will grow up knowing nothing but smart phones and things like that
