And the war on drugs continues. This story is most likely an aberration, I'm hoping that most DEA agents are honest. But locking up our own citizens for behavior that mainly harms themselves will never make good sense. We should absolutely keep the population informed about the dangers of drug abuse and also keep drugs out of the hands of kids that don't fully appreciate the lifelong repercussions of addiction. But we're wasting money and manpower while making people's lives even worse...for what? Are we ending drug addiction? I have known plenty of people that have abused ____. The threat of incarceration isn't an effective deterrent at all.
