The top 5 greatest college players that failed to transition in the NBA?
With March Madness going on, I started wondering about this.
I barely watch any college hoops, so my knowledge is limited.
My question is, who are the top 5 college players that were "hyped" as the next great player, but never lived up to their expectations.
Not because of injuries, but because they failed to transition into the NBA.
What's your list?

James Harden is the star player of his team though.
Are you saying he was meant to be more then that?
I never watched a single game that Harden played in college.

Great college starter

The majority of "hyped" players still manage to carve out ok careers for themselves in the NBA, so they do adjust to the NBA game, they just fail to live up to expectations. Keith Van Horn is a prime example.
Most of the true busts played on the 1995 Bruins, amazingly.

No, he's just trying to create a "James Harden sucks" persona, which was good at first especially with how he managed to wind up Smook. Pushing it too hard now.

Tyler Hansbrough is playing in the NBA, but from CPOY to a 5 ppg scorer is hard to believe. In fact, I was shocked when I watched him in the playoffs last season. He couldn't shoot, nor dribble. The only contribution he made was taking flagrant fouls. I saw absolutely no basketball skills.

I'm sure most here have no idea who Johnny Neumann was.
He played one varsity season of college ball (freshmen could not play back then), and a total of 26 games. He averaged 40.1 ppg that season. In fact, at 6-6, he was being compared to Pistol Pete (played in the same conference and only a year after Maravich's senior season. He immediately signed with the ABA, and while he had a couple of decent seasons (averaging 18-20 ppg, but on atrocious shooting), he completely fell apart.
