Well, not only was Doc one of the all-time greats, but he was one of the classiest individuals in NBA history. Come to think of it, though, not many from the past generations celebrated like howling mad men like they do today.
So yeah, it's got to be a generation thing.

Is basketball today a more emotional sport than it used to be? Now, in the NFL, even during the 80s, you had Mark Gastineau(remember him) gyrating after a sack. So did the NFL's popularity rub off on a whole generation of future NBA stars?
