"Eat, Fast & Live Longer" Documentary
http://www.dailymotion.com/video/xvd...-hd_shortfilms
Has anyone checked this documentary out? Just watched it and sounds very interesting. One of the proposed diets that apparently is very good for you is to fast(pretty much starve) yourself for two days(around 600 calories for men in which you try to get as much nutrients) and the rest of the week you can eat as much as you want. Apparently the results showed that people on their non-fasting would barely go over their 2k calorie daily limit and they had a decreased appetite along with losing shit of weight, fat, lowering cancer rates, etc(but this is expected since you're losing alot of weight)
A shorter news clip of it that breaks it down

It's called IF (Intermittent Fasting) and I've read a few books on it. It's an interesting concept and definitely isn't one of these fad diets like Atkins, however eating a healthy diet is purely enough to improve your life and it's expectancy. Focus on eating a healthy diet and improved health and lower body fat will follow. It's not rocket science. It just takes effort.

After a brief research on that matter, turns out all that health benefits come from the weight loss rather than fasting.

Yea, pretty much. They also say in the documentary that when you fast you actually create some brain cells(or something like that) since your brain is in survive mode and tries to remember/create places where food can be(evolutionary purposes). I think it's also very good for the cells in the body although I'm not 100% about that.
