It's awful to think that it happened but it sped up the evolution. A concentrated version of survival of the fittest.

In that same thought context it is why Asians are smarter. Smart azns get with other smart azns. Smart Indians get arranged marriages with other smart Indians. It's that simple.

Currently, I'd say the average Asia (in Asia) is genetically smarter than the average Black (American Black).

In 150 years this won't be true because the barriers to breeding are different (and less strict) now. Everybody sexes everybody. Leads to genetic diversity and the differences between races diminishing.

The real advantage is more open blood vessels and better oxygen intake. They can perform at a high level for a longer period of time (on average). It's one thing to be really athletic, it's another to be able to sustain it over a long period of time. Eastern Africans aren't known for explosive athleticism, but instead their endurance. Western Africans are known more for their explosive athleticism, but in sports like basketball and football where the games are long and endurance is key, they have the advantage their too. That seems is consistent throughout African descendants.

Why other people from a similar climate such as South America and the Mediterranean don't seem to share the same advantage, (at least from what I know) I can't say why that is. It makes sense that those who descend from ancestors of colder climates have more constricted blood vessels, therefore less circulation (saving heat and energy) and oxygen intake would be at a bit of a disadvantage... but the others I can't say why they don't seem to be similar.

We could get into a whole evolutionary discussion and break it down to a science (including culture, temperaments, etc.), but what the point.

does hand eye coordination count as athleticism? like making jumpers? or you talking about raw athleticism like speed and jumping mostly?

Let me rephrase. A higher ratio of black families are poor than white/asian families. Many of them with athletic children push for sports to attain scholarships to get them in college. That leads to many young black males doing well in sports and valuing sports, which leads to a culture of valuing sports among young black males in general (potentially even the ones who are not quite poor).
